In-Office & Online Therapy for Women
Atlanta Women’s Therapist and Counselor, Melissa Lester Olson, LCSW specializes in Women’s Issues, Trauma Resolution, Binge Eating Disorders, LGBTQ Issues, Coming Out Later in Life, Relationship Issues, Depression, Anxiety and Stress.
Welcome. My practice is a combination of talk therapy and body-focused therapies with a strong focus on mind-body connections and trauma resolution methods. These include Meditation (Taoist) and Mindfulness, EFT Tapping, Hypnosis and other neurologically effective trauma resolution methods. My work is deeply meaningful to me and I am committed to providing you with the best therapy experience possible.
Because the work I do incorporates body-focused approaches, as well as use of the unconscious, you benefit from the most current and most effective therapies available. Best of all, the skills we use together are skills you can use on your own as well.
My own Meditation and EFT Tapping practices have helped me connect with my Self and others in deeper and more meaningful ways. And because of this, it is my privilege to share these practices with any Woman who seeks a greater sense of connection and wholeness.
My extensive EFT Tapping Training has transformed my work as a Therapist & Counselor. Because EFT is a rapid and effective trauma therapy, I encourage you to ask questions and read the research. However, as with any experiential therapy, nothing takes the place of the first-hand experience itself.
Additionally, I am trained in Hypnosis by both ASCH and ASMI and pursue Consultation and Training at all times. Hypnosis can also be incorporated into your counseling and therapy work.
Finally, I have training and experience in additional trauma resolution methods that are both highly effective and efficient. It is my greatest joy to be able to offer you relief – as quickly and effectively as possible.
My own Therapy, Meditation, Hypnosis and EFT journey of 25+ years is the “why” that gets me up in the morning. Your work is do-able. Healing and wholeness is possible. I know because I have walked the walk for over 25 years.
On a more personal note, because of my own diverse cultural, religious and geographic background, and because my own family has been directly affected by chronic medical illness and disability, chronic mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, and many other issues, it is important to me that I work with a wide range of women. This includes women of all shapes and sizes, cultures and religions, abilities and disabilities, ages and races, sexual orientations, socioeconomic status and occupational status.
So whether we are working together with online therapy or in-office therapy or a combination of the two, I want you to know that real transformation is possible. As an Atlanta Women’s Therapist and Counselor, I am proud to be a member and financial supporter of the following communities:
