We all experience some form of trauma in our lives. From the day-to-day interpersonal traumas of living to the large event Traumas that we all recognize easily. And the impact trauma has on our lives is often considerable. EFT Tapping is effective at healing trauma. And research supports its long-term effectiveness.
In fact, Harvard Medical School Psychiatrist Eric Leskowitz, MD, says it’s “the most powerful intervention I’ve encountered in 25 years of work.”
And because the research is clear that trauma is stored in our bodies, talk therapy is not enough. In fact, therapy that does not include a somatic component (EFT, EMDR, SE or Brain Spotting) can be re-traumatizing.
Especially noteworthy, EFT also effectively reduces and often eliminates food, alcohol and drug cravings.
THE SCIENCE OF EFT
In a Randomized Controlled Trial of 50 Veterans diagnosed with PTSD, 86% of them no longer met criteria for this diagnosis after only 6 sessions with EFT. Furthermore, participants sustained this result over 3 and 6 month checks.
Another study measured a dramatic reduction in participants’ Cortisol levels (24-50%) after Tapping. Cortisol is a hormone that regulates stress in our bodies and contributes to the disease process.
And these are just two of many compelling results. Therefore, I encourage you to read the science at AAMET International’s Research Page. Using the drop-down menu, you can choose the topics that interest you most.
Ninety eight percent (98%) of the studies thus far show statistically significant results.

In addition, Melissa has trained in Picture Tapping Therapy, a powerful derivative of EFT that engages the unconscious through metaphor and drawing. Dramatic EFT results can be achieved with PTT without much “talk” at all. Please let me know if you’d like to know more about Picture Tapping Therapy.
