Hypnosis is the intentional use of trance in order to help you achieve your goals. It is frequently used to strengthen the ego, to reduce cravings of all kinds, to help manage weight, to improve depression and low self-esteem, to reduce anxiety and much more.
It it possible to induce trance in many ways. My approach to trance is gentle, slow and deeply relaxing. This does not mean that trance is simply the equivalent of deep relaxation. It is, however, an effective tool for resolving food addiction and cravings, binge eating, anxiety, and other unwanted behaviors. It is also an effective tool for creating new habits and increasing self-esteem, ego strength and confidence.
There is no right or wrong way for you to experience trance. You can sit or lie down. You can keep your eyes open or closed. Trance allows us access to your subconscious by bypassing the critical “gatekeeper” in your mind. It also also affords us the opportunity to make suggestions to your subconscious that will remain with you long after your session is over.
Together, we will establish your goals and work toward them. I incorporate trance into our therapy work together when it is the most effective approach for you and your goals. I do not use Hypnosis as a stand-along approach or as the primary approach in therapy. If you are seeking Hypnosis only for the resolution of an issue, I recommend that you find a therapist who uses this as their primary approach.
